Leigh Walter is a freelance director and stage manager based out of New York City. Originally from Nebraska, she moved to NYC in early 2014 and has worked on 100 productions since that time. Her work has been seen at Lincoln Center, The Park Avenue Armory, Ars Nova, St. Ann's Warehouse, Goodspeed Musicals, The Public Theater, HERE Arts Center, La MaMa, New York Theatre Workshop and BRIC among a myriad of theaters where she has dedicated herself to developing new works. She has been a proud member of the SDCF Directing Observership Class and is a company member of Trusty Sidekick. Co-Founder of The Society for Misfit Puppets, where she has directed and self produced over a dozen theatre and concert events. Her work has ranged from non-linear and abstract, to immersive children's theater, to big musicals, operas, dance and straight plays. As a director, Leigh seeks to create the magical, delightful and the strange, developing side by side with a playwright a visceral theatre that heightens its connection to an audience.
